Our client is seeking Junior, Intermediate and Senior Utility Surveys in the Kent/Crawley region!

This permanent position involves performing underground utility mapping and drainage surveys using advanced equipment like Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Locators (EML). The ideal candidate will record and report on utility assets, ensuring data quality, and manage projects to meet client expectations and industry standards like PAS
128.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys:
    Perform site surveys to accurately locate and map underground utilities like pipes and cables, and conduct drainage surveys.
  • Operate equipment:
    Use modern surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, Electromagnetic locators, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
  • Record and report:
    Record asset information and manhole inspection reports consistently and accurately, then provide completed reports to project managers and CAD operators.
  • Ensure quality:
    Check the quality of collected data and ensure final deliverables meet company and industry standards, including PAS
    128 compliance.
  • Manage projects:
    Support and lead survey projects, ensuring timely delivery, and collaborating with senior surveyors and managers.
  • Client and team interaction:
    Maintain client relationships and engage with the public, team members, and clients.
  • Maintain equipment:
    Take responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of survey equipment.
Job Requirements
  • Experience:

    Experience with utility mapping and surveying, potentially with leadership experience for more senior roles.
  • Knowledge:
    Understanding of PAS
    128 standards and other industry‑specific guidelines.
  • Technical skills:
    Proficiency in using surveying equipment (EML, GPR, total stations, GPS) and software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Soft skills:

    Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
