About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Customer Liaison Officer (CLO) to join our team on a replacement water mains contract across the Surrey and Sussex region. This is a key front-facing role, ensuring that customers, residents, and businesses are fully informed and supported before, during, and after essential water mains replacement works.
You will act as the main point of contact between the site teams, the public, and key stakeholders — helping to maintain our reputation for high-quality delivery, strong community relationships, and exceptional customer care.
Key Responsibilities- the primary point of contact for residents, businesses, and local authorities affected by works.
- Provide timely and accurate information about project activities, schedules, and potential impacts.
- Handle and resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Coordinate and attend public meetings, site visits, and community engagement sessions.
- Produce clear communication materials such as letters, notices, and updates.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure customer considerations are built into planning and delivery.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and feedback.
- Support the company’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and high customer satisfaction.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role within utilities, construction, highways, or similar infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Highly organised with attention to detail and good record-keeping skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using CRM or reporting systems.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the Surrey / Sussex region.
