Overview

Location: Southfield, MI

Other Available Locations: Any Nucor location, Remote but will report to Southfield, MI

Responsibilities
  • Understand, interpret and communicate OEM/ Tier 1 quality & technical requirements, supplier portals and material specifications to appropriate Nucor divisions
  • Manage and communicate customer feedback keeping Account Manager, division Production Managers, Mill Tech Reps and Quality Leads informed of any issues including claims and corrective actions
  • Lead cross divisional problem-solving efforts for all quality and technical opportunities related to the OEM/ Tier 1
  • Lead and provide technical support for RFQs related to the OEM/ Tier 1
Quality & Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide technical support for RFQs related to the OEM/ Tier 1
EVI Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the OEM/ Tier 1 to understand future material needs and trends while keeping the customer updated on current and future mill capabilities
  • Support customers in the application and usage of Nucor automotive grade steels as early as possible in the materials selection process with new platforms
  • Provide support to OEM in the design of efficient steel structures to maximize use of available Nucor grades
  • Work closely with Nucor Product Development teammates to support the grade development progress as well as providing guidance along with Account Manager on future grade development needs based on OEM/ Tier 1 input

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four year undergraduate degree
  • Five years steel or automotive technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in metallurgy or material science
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience
