Overview
Roadside Technician Commercial Tires (Paid Training Provided) – Cranston, RI. The Roadside Technician position is an emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. When a customer has a tire-related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. This role requires that you be roadside when performing duties. When there are no service calls, Technicians will help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed.
Responsibilities- Service Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
- Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary
- Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
- Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including wearing proper PPE, using tire cages, and following all safety policies and procedures
- Assist with mounting orders and general shop duties as needed when not on service calls
There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During on-call periods, after-hours service calls are expected at a 95% acceptance rate and may occur on weekends and nights. After-hours service calls are paid at double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call. For example, if a technician accepts, arrives, and completes a call in 45 minutes, they receive an additional 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay.
BasicRequirements
- Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous Commercial Service Tire experience
- Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
- Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary
