Per diem position.
Shift: Day, 10hr/week, Start Time: 8:00 AM End Time: 4:00 PM
Candidate should be available to work Mon-Friday during daytime hours, but flexibility can be considered after candidate has settled into role.
Duration: 12 Months.
Registered Dietician by the American Dietetic Association, and current RI licensure.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience working as a Registered Dietician, preferably in a public or private hospital, or correctional setting.
No Travelers, Only Local Candidate.
Healthcare Services is seeking a Dietician to provide onsite nutritional guidance and support to the incarcerated population in all six (6) secured facilities, located in Cranston, Rhode Island,
This scope of work is divided into two (2) areas, providing individual dietary/nutritional counseling, and working collaboratively with RIDOC's Food Services.
Dietary /Nutritional Counseling
Provide individual counseling to patients based on provider referral.
Assist healthcare staff by evaluating medical diet orders.
Food Services
Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Food Services to assess the nutritional value of meals served to the incarcerated population.·
Evaluate the delivery of meals to the incarcerated population with special dietary and nutritional needs (i.e., low calorie, food allergy, bland, etc.),
Skills required
Registered Dietician by the American Dietetic Association, and current RI licensure.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience working as a Registered Dietician, preferably in a public or private hospital, or correctional setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to function effectively in a multi-faceted system, and to interact with all levels of staff, including security. Proficient in using electronic medical records systems. Ability to be flexible to meet changing patient and departmental needs.
Spanish speaking candidates will be given preference but it is not required.
