Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Full-Time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a confirmed long-term assignment from mid-September through December, covering a maternity leave in a third-grade classroom at an elementary school in Portsmouth, RI. Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM - Duration:
Mid-September to December (maternity leave coverage) - Grade Level: Third grade

One classroom assignment - Supervision:
Support provided through district-assigned staff, such as paraprofessionals or other aides
Required Qualifications:
- Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting preferred
- Strong commitment to student development and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with students IEP goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the district
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school personnel
