Position: Podiatrist, DPM for Community Health Center
Providence Community Health Center is hiring a Podiatrist
The Podiatrist (Medical/Surgical) focuses on evaluation and treatment of diseases of the foot and ankle with emphasis in health and conditions affecting the lower extremities. The care provided will be inclusive of initial assessment, minor procedures and procedures that require operative treatment in the hospital as well as appropriate triage where necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Clinical Knowledge
Demonstratesknowledgeofetiologies,risk factors,pathophysiology,presentationandepidemiologyofmedical conditions.Performshistoryandphysicalassessmentsofpatientsthatare accurate,complete,concise,relevantandappropriatefor age, gender and clinical problem.Ordersappropriatediagnosticstudiesandcorrectlyinterpretstheresults.Utilizescriticalthinkingtosynthesizeandanalyzecollecteddata.Develops,implements,evaluatesandalterstheplanofcareasneeded.Managesgeneralmedicalandsurgicalconditionsbasedonknowledgeoftheindications,contraindications,side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.Counselsandeducatespatientsandfamilies.Demonstratesproficiencyinproceduralskillspertinenttopracticearea.Maintains accurate,complete,conciseandtimelydocumentationintheelectronicmedicalrecord.Patient Care
Providescarethatispatientandfamilycentered,compassionate,appropriateandeffectiveforthepromotionofhealth, prevention of illness and treatment of disease throughout the lifespan.Facilitatesconsistent,coordinatedcareandclearcommunicationamongallmembersofthehealthcareteam.Incorporatesthepatientandfamilyincareplanningandtreatmentacrosssettings.Servesasanadvocateforpatientsandfamiliesinnavigatingthehealthcaresystem.Practice Based Learning and Clinical Improvement

Provides in-service training sessions for other PCHC staff, as necessary such as the NP Residency program.Attend PCHC staff meetings, unless direct patient duties prevent such attendance.Must obtain and maintain appropriate hospital privileges according to PCHC policies and procedures.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS Education
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required. Active Rhode Island Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) license Drug Enforcement Agency license.…
