RISE is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our multi‑divisional organization specializing in Energy Efficiency, Engineering, Environmental Testing, HVAC, and Design. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting operational performance, and ensuring compliance across multiple business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage month‑end and year‑end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple divisions
  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and reporting to leadership
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with operational leaders
  • Assist with revenue recognition and job cost accounting in a project‑based environment
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Assist with tax preparation support and regulatory filings
  • Monitor cash flow activity and assist with financial planning initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑divisional, or project‑based accounting environment
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
  • Experience with job cost accounting and revenue recognition in engineering, construction, or professional services industries
  • Experience using Acumatica accounting software
  • Experience working within an employee‑owned (ESOP) organization
Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and regularly uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other business machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time, on‑site, position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday with specific hours to be mutually agreed upon. Hybrid work options may be available depending on location.
