Position OverviewThe Tax Supervisor will oversee and manage a variety of tax compliance and consulting engagements for our clients. This position requires strong technical skills and the ability to effectively supervise and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax regulations and the ability to apply these principles to complex client issues.
Responsibilities Of The Tax Supervisor- Manage and review individual, corporate, partnership, and S‑corporation tax returns.
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical support to clients and staff.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service.
- Assist with tax planning and consulting projects, providing strategic advice to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive client service.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate updates to the team and clients.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax.
- Experience with 1040 filings.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in managing and reviewing complex tax returns.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting.
- Familiarity with industry‑specific tax issues.
- CPA certification.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books or similar platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A CPA or EA certification is preferred.
