Job DescriptionThe Financial Advisor (FA) role is a three‑year program with a forgivable draw, designed for financial advisors or planners who will provide financial planning guidance and sell investment management solutions. The FA will serve as the central point of contact, service TD Wealth clients by reviewing financial goals, making investment recommendations aligned to their clients’ objectives, and building relationships to deepen share of wallet.
Depth& Scope
- Experience selling investments and providing financial plans
- Commitment to customer‑centric service, maximizing retention and growth
- Deliver full onboarding to new clients – discovery, financial needs analysis, introduction to services, and complete documentation
- Partner and promote lead generation
- Manage goals, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Provide complete planning experience for new and existing clients
- Implement annual client review (ACR) meetings with enhanced agenda focused on wealth needs and proactive contacts
- Serve as primary contact for TD Wealth client relationships and coordinate with TD Bank, Retail, and Wealth partners
- Execute a differentiated service model for TD Wealth clients
- Meet quarterly and annual sales goals
- Deepen wallet share by anticipating client needs and recommending appropriate Wealth solutions, while maximizing profitability
- Identify referral opportunities to Retail and Small Business/Commercial partners
- Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures
- Adhere to all federal, state, and SRO regulations (e.g., OCC, SEC, NYDFS)
- Meet Continuing Education requirements
- Implement TD’s Customer Identification Program (CIP) and due‑diligence responsibilities
- Transition high‑threshold clients to appropriate HNW Wealth partners
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and mentor new FAs
- Represent TD Wealth professionally and engage in community support initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of advice, planning, and investment sales
- Required licenses: SIE, Series 7, Series 63; also L&H and Series 66 (or equivalent) or ability to obtain them self‑directed
- Advanced understanding of wealth products and services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time‑management abilities
- Willingness to travel within assigned market five days a week and commute within territory
- Strong knowledge of wealth‑management business development techniques
- Experience with retail and small‑business banking clients
- Consultative sales experience required
- Ability to build relationships and partner effectively with other departments
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals
- Support the Bank’s Customer Service Strategy
- Consider impact of decisions on well‑being of TD, Customers, and stakeholders
- Deliver highest customer service to internal partners, vendors, and Customers – WOW at every opportunity
- Model quality service delivery in every interaction
- Lead continuous improvement of partner/customer experience
- Engage in advancing an inclusive culture reflecting TD's diversity agenda
- Participate fully as a team member and contribute to a positive work environment
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to teammates as needed
- Maintain ongoing communication on project status and issues
- Share information, knowledge, and proactively learn from teammates
- Position is with a FINRA member, broker, or dealer and is subject to FINRA and Securities Laws
- Must meet FINRA employment standards and undergo investigation and verification per Rule 3110(e)
