Instructional Designer – Secwepemc Language

Duties: Reporting to the Dean of Business and University Arts & Science, in partnership with the Office of Indigenous Education, the Instructional Designer
- Indigenous Language Course will develop an Introduction to Secwepemc language course (Eastern Dialect). The designer will work with local language elders to create a course outline, assessment tools, rubrics and related assets for delivery. This position requires some travel to the region.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field; significant relevant experience in lieu of advanced degree will be considered.
- Minium of three years of experience in instructional design, preferably in higher education
- 3 years teaching within a higher education context
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of:
- Universal Design in learning and accessibility
- Designing active and inclusive learning experiences
- working with Indigenous communities, collectives, and organizations; demonstrated expertise in Indigenous values, ethics, protocols and knowledge systems with strong ties to Indigenous communities.
- Indigenous pedagogies, methodologies and ways of knowing such as place-based learning, story-telling, experiential, intergenerational, and relational ways of learning

Salary:
As per the Faculty Salary Schedule and depending on qualifications, instructional and related work experience, the salary for auxiliary employees is $44.89 to $60.26 per hour (this includes 16% in lieu of benefits and vacation).
