Complex Instrumentation & Analytical Equipment A global manufacturing business specialising in complex instrumentation and analytical equipment is looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Team Lead . Supplying into aerospace, research, automotive and pharmaceutical sectors, the company designs highly complex, precision electro-mechanical products.

The Role As Mechanical Design Team Lead, you will guide a small mechanical and multi-disciplinary team through new product development. You will take ownership of mechanical performance, design-for-manufacture, and mechanical safety, ensuring products meet required performance standards and can be built efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Lead a small mechanical design team across new product development projects. Conduct mechanical design reviews and resolve technical issues. Ensure products meet required performance, manufacturability and safety standards. Mentor engineers and help build long-term capability within the group. Support recruitment and development of student placements. Work with the Technical Director on technology development. Skills & Experience Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

5 years mechanical design experience within complex or instrumentation-based products. Strong CAD skills (Solid Works, NX, CATIA, ProE). Proven FEA experience including stiffness/vibration analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Experience designing for manufacture and working cross-functionally.
