Upholsterer

Required experience - We are seeking an experienced Upholsterer from within the furniture industry on a full-time basis. Duties include upholstering leather and fabric, deep buttoning for high end sofas and chairs. Attention to detail is crucial. You will have at least 2-3 years of experience and upholster to very high standards, work under pressure and be a team player. Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on experience.

Salary negotiable on experience. Permanent position.

Monday to Friday 40 hrs.

Hours are Mon – Thurs 7.00 am – 4.30 pm Fri 7.00 am – 12.00 Midday

• Must be experienced in all types of upholstery including deep buttoning, able to use power tools, and have a good eye for detail.
• Operate sewing machines and other upholstery tools safely and effectively.
• Work as part of a small team producing high end bespoke pieces.
• Measure and cut fabric and cushioning materials to achieve precise dimensions for each furniture piece.
• Remove old upholstery and assess the condition of furniture frames before beginning the re‑upholstery process.
• Select appropriate fabrics, padding, and materials based on client preferences and project requirements.
• Upholster furniture with attention to detail, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
• Repair or replace damaged frames, springs, and other components to ensure the longevity of each piece.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold safety standards and efficiency.

• Proven experience as an upholsterer or in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of different fabrics, materials, and upholstery techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and understand their vision.
• A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and innovate.
• Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new trends in upholstery.
