* Salary: Placement on the Certified salary schedule is commensurate with education and teaching experience. Base starting salary is $51,000.
Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum requirement – Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four year college or university.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible or already in possession of a Colorado Teaching License/certificate endorsed in the area of assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals—established clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Employs instructional methods and materials (including field trips) that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.
- Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Assists the administration implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignment of teacher aides and/or volunteers, and cooperatively with the principal evaluates their job performance.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs and serves on staff committees as required.
- Maintains records and makes such reports as required and directed by the administration.
- Other duties may be assigned.
The employee supervises students in the class and volunteers.

Full pay range may be found on the appropriate salary schedule. Employees hired new into a position are rarely qualified to receive the maximum of the pay range shown on the salary schedule.
Language SkillsAbility to read and analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
