Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a LA or compact license and at least two years of multi-specialty operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital-based multi-specialty Operating Room at a Level II Trauma Center

• Specialties include Ortho, Cardio Thoracic, ENT, GYN, Plastics, Vascular, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Trauma, Urology, Neurosurgery, and Robotic Procedures

• Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), 6:15 am to 2:45 pm

• Weekend call and 3-4 call shifts required per 4 week period

• Holiday coverage as needed, especially during Mardi Gras period

• EMR:
Epic, preference given to candidates with prior Epic experience

• Primary duties include perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures, patient assessment, and circulating in the OR

• Coordinate closely with surgical and anesthesia teams to maintain patient safety and a sterile environment

• Adherence to AORN standards and hospital policies required

• Hospital provides surgical scrubs

• All requests for time off should be limited and no requests during Mardi Graswill be approved

• Returning employees must have a minimum one-year separation from any permanent role at the health system to be considered

• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required

• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room RN experience in a multi-specialty setting

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required

• Trauma Level II experience preferred

• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Charge nurse experience preferred
