Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with delivery attendance experience, a current LA or compact RN license, and expertise with Epic for a day shift assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level III NICU within a hospital environment
- Cares for neonates requiring advanced intervention and support
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3 in NICU, may float to Newborn Observation Unit (NOU) with a ratio of 1:4-6
- Expected to float to normal newborn nursery as needed
- Day shift schedule is 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
- Weekend requirement is every other weekend
- Must work at least one major and one minor holiday
- Self-scheduling model is in place
- Uses Epic as the EMR system
- Responsible for admitting and discharging neonates, including delivery attendance and coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team
- Performs procedures such as assisting with chest tube, PICC, UAC, UVC placements, intubation, x-rays, ABGs, CBGs, and exchange transfusions
- Educates and supports parents, with special focus on breastfeeding assistance
- Scrub color is grape/purple
- Holidays and weekend coverage required according to unit policy
- Up to five days of RTO will be considered
- Candidates must reside outside a 75 mile radius
- Excessive RTO is not permitted
- Active LA or compact RN license
- Minimum 3 years of recent Level III NICU experience
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Must have experience attending vaginal and C-section deliveries
- Proven experience with IV placement in neonates, lab draws, ventilator and central line management, and blood administration
- No first time travelers will be considered
- Must not have been a permanent employee at an LCMC facility within the past year
