Overview
Your job is more than a job. The Perioperative Billing Coordinator ensures that all procedures and supplies for perioperative services (ODS, Holding, PACU, Anesthesia and Surgery) are billed accurately and within timelines in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Your Everyday Preference Card Review And Data Entry- Gathers paperwork for charge entry by exception.
- Reviews preference card, implant records, vendor delivery ticket and charge sheets for accuracy.
- Runs audit reports, charge transmittal, demographics, handwritten surgery log and other reports as required.
- Charges patient supply items, implant items, equipment and consignment items while using appropriate markup for items not in items file.
- Performs daily charge interface for perioperative services time charges or supply charges and anesthesia supply charges.
- Checks paperwork for completeness for DME (soft good) supplies.
- Distributes charge paperwork for Anesthesia professional fee billing to the appropriate party.
- Maintains file of all patient charges in chorological order and readily accessible for intradepartmental use.
- Maintains all forms from the print shop for the department.
- Gathers information, implants and vendor delivery tickets for patient billing services.
- May perform materials management duties such as supply acquisition, requisition, etc.
- Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience. - Preferred:
Technical or vocational school education or equivalent experience
