Job Overview
The Unit Assistant position supports inpatient nursing care units and may participate in patient care under the direction of the registered nurse (RN). Scheduled weekly hours are TBD.
ResponsibilitiesSupport inpatient nursing care units and may participate in patient care under RN direction.
Minimum Qualifications- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant.
- Current BLS certification from an ILCOR approved course such as Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross. The course must include a manikin check off.
- Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Typing and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to perform detail‑oriented tasks.
Good physical health required. Must stand, sit, walk for long periods, lift at least 50 pounds, and work in moderate noise.
Physical Effort- Constant (67‑100%): vision.
- Frequently (34‑66%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing.
- Occasionally (1‑33%): climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching.
