Senior Tax Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing tax compliance, preparing provisions, and overseeing audits to ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of tax regulations and the ability to collaborate with external partners to maintain accurate and timely filings.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the outsourced preparation of federal income and state franchise tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Calculate and review estimates for federal, state, and foreign taxes, including extensions, in collaboration with external accounting firms.

- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions and related disclosures in line with ASC 740 requirements.

- Manage tax audits and respond to notices, ensuring timely resolutions and compliance.

- Oversee the preparation and submission of sales and use tax, property tax renditions, foreign branch filings, and other required tax documents.

- Prepare statutory financial statements for foreign branches, maintaining accuracy and compliance.

- Reconcile tax depreciation records using proprietary fixed asset software to ensure proper documentation.

- Conduct research on complex tax issues to provide insights and solutions.

- Maintain the tax compliance calendar to track deadlines and ensure timely submissions.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support tax operations.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate tax accounting or related field. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.

- Proficiency in corporate income tax compliance and preparation of tax provisions.

- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and its application in corporate tax reporting.

- Familiarity with federal, state, and property tax regulations and compliance processes.

- Experience managing tax audits and resolving related notices.

- Ability to prepare and review sales and use tax filings and foreign branch financial statements.

- Skilled in using fixed asset software for tax depreciation reconciliation.

- Excellent research and analytical skills for addressing technical tax matters.
