Overview

We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Neonatologist to join our growing Ochsner Neonatology Team at a community Level III NICU located on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

• The NICU includes 24/7 NNP in-house coverage.
• The NICU participates in the Vermont Oxford Network and is eligible to participate in Ochsner system-based neonatal quality improvement projects.

Ochsner Health encompasses a combination of community level III and level IV NICU services across Louisiana. The Ochsner network serves the Gulf South region with an established ground and air neonatal transport system.

Ochsner Children’s comprises more than 85 primary care pediatricians who are part of our group of over 290 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists in 27 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi. We offer a full range of complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, advanced GI and hepatology, hematology-oncology and AYA oncology, and a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group including Cleft Palate/ Cranio-Facial Surgery, advanced spine surgery, and the Gulf South’s only comprehensive, multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.

Ochsner Children’s Hospital includes a 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, a NAEC-accredited level IV, a 4-bed Pediatric EMU and a 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, supported by a 24-7 pediatric and neonatal transport team utilizing rotary and fixed wing aircraft, as well as ground transport. We recently began construction on a new 5-story Children’s Hospital on our main campus in New Orleans, with expected opening at the start of 2028.

Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine, the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, which is in the LCME accreditation process currently.

Our faculty publishes hundreds of research papers annually and leads numerous multi-center studies and trials.
