During the full‑service oil change, the hood technician must have an outgoing and friendly personality. The hood technician reviews the manufacturer’s vehicle recommendations with the customer and completes the oil change.

• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Keep work area clean and organized; protect the pit opening with a bay net when not occupied.
• Use the Echo System.
• Perform visual inspection of the vehicle and document any unusual conditions.
• Obtain the correct oil filter, drain oil, inspect the oil drain plug and gasket.
• Check/fill gearboxes.
• Perform additional services such as fuel filters, transmissions, and differentials when applicable.
• Assist with performing pressure and leak checks.
• Inspect belts, hoses, and other hood compartment components; document unusual conditions.
• Assist with final safety and quality checks.
• Perform general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows, lawn mowing, clearing litter, and cleaning restrooms.
• Attend crew meetings and run errands as required; follow other duties assigned by a supervisor.

• Customer service skills.
• Basic literacy (reading, writing, math).

• Ability and license to operate motor vehicles.
• Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools.
• Attention to detail.
• Minimum 3 months actual experience or supervised training as a lube technician required.

Materials used include automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants. The environment involves frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the shift.

Physical activities required: good corrected vision and hearing, frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.
