Base Pay Range$20.30/hr - $23.55/hr
Training and Schedule- Training for this position is on 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), Monday-Friday.
- Permanent schedule is 3rd shift (10:35pm-7:05am), Monday-Friday.
A Twisting Textile Production Operator is responsible for the set up and changing of materials on a variety of different types of Twisting machines. This includes a cleaning process as well.
Core Responsibilities- Harvesting of finished goods from the machine frame.
- Cleaning of the frame before set-up.
- Replacing input material on the creel of the machine and threading up this material.
- Tying down the input material onto bobbins in order to transfer the material during the twisting, plying or cabling process.
- Starting up the machine and recording production tasks.
- The inspection of all material being placed on a machine during its set up as well as the finished material being harvested from the machine. The quality standards vary according to product specification.
- The correct labeling of material harvested from the machine.
- Operate the following industrial motorized vehicles:
Forklifts… A sit-down fork truck to transport and retrieve materials on skids. - Cherry pickers… A stand-up lift that raises the operator off the ground in order to replace and remove material from overhead creels.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED
License / Credentials / Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willing and able to become certified by company on Forklift and other motorized material handling vehicles
Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
Working Hours / Environment
- Permanent schedule will be on 3rd shift (10:35pm-7:05am), including at least 1 weekend day.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment (Hearing protection is required).
Tools and Equipment
- Tools include but are not limited to scissors, box knife. Appropriate PPE will be assigned as required. This includes safety glasses, cut gloves, hat or hairnet, hearing protection.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Lifting requirements of 10-25 lbs. frequently and 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
- The ability to push/pull up to 60 lbs.
- The ability to stand and walk on concrete for an entire shift.
- The ability to bend and/or squat frequently.
- The ability to walk up ladders or stairs.
Shift Differentials
- Additional $2/hr for 3rd shift
- Additional $1/hr for working one weekend day
Training Completion Bonus
- $1.25/hr increase after training certification
