Police Officer

The Covington Police Department, established in 1883, is the largest law enforcement organization in Northern Kentucky, with 114 sworn officers and a total of 140 personnel. Our department offers a range of specialized services, including bike patrol, K-9 unit, criminal investigations, narcotics, traffic, and community outreach. Additionally, we operate civilian units such as the Crime Lab, Computer Forensic Analyst, and Records Bureau.

The department also employs part-time police cadets for parking enforcement and park rangers for Devou Park security. We are committed to ensuring public safety and serving the community with professionalism and dedication.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Covington, KY, for a Police Officer in the Covington Police Department. The Police Officer will be responsible for maintaining law and order, enforcing laws, protecting citizens, and responding to emergency situations. Day-to-day tasks include patrolling assigned areas, conducting criminal investigations, ensuring the safety of community members, gathering evidence, and participating in community outreach initiatives.

Officers are expected to work closely with colleagues and other agencies to uphold public safety standards.

• Proficiency in Police procedures and protocols

• Knowledge of Law Enforcement principles, methods, and practices
• Commitment to public safety, ethical conduct, and community engagement
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
• Physical fitness and ability to meet department standards
• Completion of a certified police academy program
• Valid driver's license and ability to comply with local, state, and federal requirements
