Salary Range: $94,894 – $156,575 annually (DOE)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist position requires current Physical Therapy skills to evaluate, plan, implement and/or delegate a comprehensive plan of patient care in the orthopedic, pre/post-surgical, neurological, and health/wellness service areas.

Work hours:

Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (some clinics may offer 8- or 10-hour shifts). Reports to the Manager, designee – Supervisor or Lead.

Prerequisites

Current or in-process Washington State PT License or Interim License.

Qualifications

Unique Physical/Mental Demands, Environment, and Working Conditions

Occasionally required to transfer patients weighing up to or exceeding 200 lbs., needing maximum assistance from wheelchair to table and back to chair. Must recognize own limitations for load handling and seek assistance when demand exceeds individual physical abilities. Standing, sitting, crouching, bending, walking for extended periods. Hand dexterity for manual treatment techniques and equipment operations. Must be able to lift, carry a minimum of 40 lbs.

Performance

Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate certifications and licenses.
  • Comply with professional ethics and code of conduct (e.g., American Physical Therapy Association, Washington State Practice Act).
  • Perform patient evaluations, integrate information from all sources, set appropriate plan of care.
  • Provide patient education, involve in goal setting, collaborate with interdisciplinary care team.
  • Document re-evaluations and treatment plans per standards and timelines.
  • Conduct telehealth/virtual visits with proper documentation and coding.
  • Provide resource for development of patient educational materials.
  • Collaborate with full care team; adjust plans as needed.
  • Determine need for further treatment, discharge or continuation of care; provide information to subsequent providers.
  • Provide direct supervision to PT Assistants, Exercise Specialists, and Rehab Aide staff.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately with clear communication and guidance.
  • Support staff scheduling, registration, financial information communications.
  • Orient new staff, students, volunteers as appropriate.
  • Complete authorization, certification, orders, prescriptions timely.
  • Accurate, timely documentation; follow billing policies and CPT coding standards.
  • Utilize technology for team communication and patient care efficiency.
Leadership & Program Development
  • Participate in development of new programs or modifications.
  • Network and collaborate to promote Therapy Services clinics or programs.
  • Learn new methods of service delivery.
  • Abide by Pinnacle and Valley Medical Center Mission, Vision, Values.
  • Participate in educational activities and continuing education in-services.
  • Engage in strategic plan initiatives led by Strategic Leaders.
  • Volunteer and participate in community service events.
  • Assist Department Leadership in setting goals, objectives, and productivity standards.
Lifestyle Medicine Core Competencies
  • Work in interdisciplinary care team for lifestyle modification and behavior change programming.
  • Apply health risk assessment measurements and incorporate results into integrated plan of care.
  • Collaborate with Exercise Specialist and Registered Dietitian.
  • Incorporate comprehensive health plan with long-term goal setting.
  • Use motivational interviewing skills for patient partnership.
Clinical Specialist Outpatient – Additional Responsibilities
  • At least 2 years current clinical practice experience.
  • Completed and maintains department-approved advanced certification.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet standards and deadlines.
  • Provide peer mentoring to new/experienced therapists.
  • Supervise volunteers, student observers, and provide training.
  • Adjust student program as necessary.
