About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist partners with customers and internal teams to manage and collect customer invoices, resolve payment discrepancies, and ensure accurate and timely application of payments.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring accounts receivable aging reports and proactively following up on overdue balances.
- Preparing and distributing monthly customer statements and collection reports.
- Communicating with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment discrepancies, and payment arrangements.
- Investigating and resolving billing issues and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Processing invoices through customer portals and addressing any related issues or discrepancies.
- Managing and promoting customer down payment requests.
- Maintaining and updating customer account information in SAP, including key account details.
- Reviewing and recommending credit limits for new customer accounts.
- Partnering with Sales, Customer Service, Project Management, and Finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing and efficient collection processes.
- Assisting with credit card processing for customer payments.
- Maintaining accurate records of transactions and customer communications.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
- Supporting ad hoc projects and special initiatives as needed.
- Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent preferred
- SAP a plus, not required
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizes accordingly, and stay organized.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Knowledge of personal computer system and software required (Microsoft Word and Excel) and willingness to learn as new software is introduced.
- Professional telephone etiquette and customer service is essential.
