Job Purpose and Summary

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will be the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations. Technicians apply Standard Operating Procedures, best practices, and effective communication to maintain smooth pharmacy operations. You will complete a company training program and meet all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to state Board of Pharmacy guidelines before full duties are assumed.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Obey pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt moments while serving at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone.
  • Perform basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stock, and waiting bin inventories.
  • Act as a high‑performing team member, embracing a growth mindset and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; protect patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) when permitted by law and with required training and certification.
Optional Immunization Responsibilities
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements for Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.

  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Show attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
  • Exhibit customer service and team orientation: look for ways to help people, respond to reactions appropriately.
  • Display strong communication skills: verbal, written, active listening.
  • Apply mathematical reasoning: calculate dosage counts for prescriptions.
  • Engage with problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
  • Meet physical demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, reaching overhead, typing, visual acuity.
  • Interact verbally where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Typical pay range: $19.46 – $19.46 per hour.
