The Junior Structural Engineer supports the design, analysis, and documentation of structural steel racking and material-handling systems, including selective rack, pushback rack, flow rack, shelving, and automated systems. This role assists senior engineers in producing engineering calculations, drawings, and submittal packages that meet building codes, seismic requirements, and industry standards, while gaining hands‑on experience with real‑world engineered systems.
- Assist in the structural design and analysis of steel racking, platforms, and material‑handling systems under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
- Perform engineering calculations related to loads, material stresses, seismic forces, and anchorage.
- Review layouts, CAD files, geotechnical reports, test reports, and plan check comments to ensure engineering accuracy and compliance.
- Support engineering submittals, corrections, and revisions during permitting and approval processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams including Engineering Documentation, Submittals, Sales, and Operations to support project execution.
- Participate in project reviews and quality control processes to ensure designs meet safety and performance standards.
- Follow professional engineering, safety, and quality standards in all work.
The qualified candidate will possess most of the following traits:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Foundational understanding of structural and civil engineering principles.
- Proficiency with CAD software and basic engineering tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering calculations, and reports.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or willingness to obtain is preferred.
- Internship or entry‑level engineering experience is a plus.
