Overview

Our client are looking an accomplished Transport Planner with experience in planning FTL and LTL in an express freight environment to join a busy planning team in Coventry.

The role requires experience in international import and export operations for an own fleet of 40ft articulated vehicles. Experience on the UK to Ireland lane would be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Interact with customers via email and phone to provide updates on consignments
Respond to customer queries in a timely and professional manner
Receive and book transport movements from clients
Assign vehicles and trailers to transport movements, and communicate instructions clearly to drivers
Ensure clear and timely communication with clients
Administer PODs and job pricingRequirements

At least two years' experience in road freight transport planning of 40ft articulated vehicles

Experience with FTL and LTL planning in an express freight environment
Understanding of driver hours, breaks, and loading limits (CPC Manager qualification not required)
Basic knowledge of customs procedures between the UK and Ireland is an advantage
IT literate with a strong grasp of spoken and written English (second language acceptable)
Previous experience with temperature-controlled or pharmaceutical goods is an advantage; training will be provided

Salary & Benefits

£35,000 - £40,000
Monday to Friday, with flexibility on daily shift pattern to suit business needs (office operational 06:00-20:00)
Contracted hours: 42.5 per week; shift hours to be confirmed upon successful application
After training, one Saturday shift in five may be required, with a day-in-lieu during the previous week
