What is the job role?
Senior Practitioner – Children in Care team (12 months maternity cover)
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to cover maternity leave, 37 hours per week. The candidate must be highly skilled and able to take responsibility for the most complex or high‑risk work with children and families, exercising a high degree of personal accountability and autonomy. The role includes supporting the team manager and team members through mentoring, coaching and advancing the expertise, professional competence and confidence of others.
The role also involves a range of assessments to support and empower the families you work with, including care planning, future planning and court experience. Evidence‑based practice and needs‑led outcomes are essential aspects of this role.
You will be expected to perform the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the attached job description and person specification.

Legal and eligibility informationThis post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
