Refrigeration Service Engineer – Midlands Company Overview

Our client is a specialist engineering services organisation providing installation, maintenance, and repair solutions for commercial and industrial systems across the UK. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, they support a wide range of clients by keeping critical equipment operating efficiently and reliably.

Our client is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Service Engineer to join their Midlands-based team. This is a field-based role responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing customer plant and equipment under service and maintenance agreements. You’ll work directly with customers, delivering a high standard of technical service while representing the business professionally on site. This role is ideal for candidates based in or around West Midlands and surrounding areas.

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on systems and equipment at customer sites
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdowns, warranty work, commissioning, and hire activities
• Use diagnostic software, digital tools, and hand tools in line with technical and engineering standards
• Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical contact
• Communicate effectively with service desks, supervisors, and engineering teams
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Support continuous improvement and safe working practices

• Previous experience in a service or field-based technician role
• Relevant technical qualifications, including F‑Gas certification
• Strong fault-finding and problem‑solving skills
• Confident using mobile apps, diagnostic software, and Microsoft Office
• Customer-focused with strong communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willing to take part in a planned standby and call‑out rota (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
