Role OverviewOur client is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Service Engineer to join their Midlands-based team. This is a field-based role responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing customer plant and equipment under service and maintenance agreements. You’ll work directly with customers, delivering a high standard of technical service while representing the business professionally on site. This role is ideal for candidates based in or around West Midlands and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on systems and equipment at customer sites
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdowns, warranty work, commissioning, and hire activities
- Use diagnostic software, digital tools, and hand tools in line with technical and engineering standards
- Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical contact
- Communicate effectively with service desks, supervisors, and engineering teams
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately
- Support continuous improvement and safe working practices
- Previous experience in a service or field-based technician role
- Relevant technical qualifications, including F‑Gas certification
- Strong fault-finding and problem‑solving skills
- Confident using mobile apps, diagnostic software, and Microsoft Office
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willing to take part in a planned standby and call‑out rota (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
- Experience in HVAC, building services, or manufacturing environments
- £45 - £55K + OT
