About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join a dynamic maintenance team. This role is critical in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical services across a diverse estate. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnostics, repairs, and minor installation works on a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance tasks, including:
Periodic Inspection & Testing
Emergency Lighting Testing
Fire Alarm Testing
Portable Appliance Testing
Diagnose faults and determine appropriate solutions, escalating where necessary.
Assist with installation and refurbishment projects, including minor power systems.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and service documentation.
Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to minimize disruption and deliver excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience in electrical building services (commercial, industrial, domestic).
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Maintenance.
City & Guilds qualifications including:
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
Strong understanding of statutory compliance and Health & Safety.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet SLAs.
Full, clean UK or EU driving license.
Desirable:
Knowledge of fire alarm systems (BS 5839).
Experience with LV/HV systems.
Awareness of confined space entry and asbestos safety.
Understanding of mechanical building systems.
