Research Fellow (Innovation Research Associate) –
We are looking for a talented and versatile mathematician, statistician or computer scientist to join the Centre for Applications of Mathematical and Computing Sciences (CAMaCS) at Warwick as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
About the RoleInnovation Research Associates are a new type of postdoctoral role with a focus on technical breadth and accelerating impact. You will work within interdisciplinary academic teams to deliver research projects with external partners, learn and implement new modelling techniques, and cultivate a broad base of expertise. You will also engage in collaborative grant capture and impact acceleration.
Responsibilities- Work across different long-term and short-term projects with a diverse range of academic and non-academic partners.
- Interface between academics in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and external partners to scope, design, and deliver impactful research projects.
- Learn about and implement new modelling techniques for interdisciplinary research.
- Cultivate your own academic identity with a broad base of expertise.
- Demonstrate leadership through the development of novel data-centric modelling within other disciplines.
- Engage in collaborative grant capture and impact acceleration.
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Application should include a Research Statement, CV and List of Publications, along with a Cover Letter, identifying and evidencing experience in as many of the following areas as possible (preferably at least two):
- Machine learning and/or other quantitative modelling in AI
- Statistical modelling
- Interdisciplinary mathematical modelling
- Numerical analysis and scientific computing

PhD Status:
If near submission or not yet conferred, offers may be made at Research Assistant level (Spinal point of pay grade
5). Upon successful PhD award, promotion to Research Fellow (lowest spinal point of grade
6).
