Community Night Sister​/Charge Nurse

Coventry Integrated Palliative Care Team supports patients, families and carers with specialist palliative care needs, palliative support, and end‑of‑life care within the community setting. The post holder will work as part of the integrated night palliative care multidisciplinary team and provide specialist advice, support, and high‑quality patient‑centred care to those affected by malignant and non‑malignant disease at the end of life and generalist community patients that require urgent interventions overnight within a 2‑hour rapid response.

This service operates 7 days a week from 19:30 to 08:00 on a shift rota basis.

• Provide out‑of‑hours palliative and generalist unplanned community care overnight.
• Deliver direct assessment and advice for patients with cancer or an advanced terminal illness and their families.
• Coordinate and provide unplanned care to patients as part of a 24‑hour nursing service.
• Serve as a specialist resource for community and primary‑care colleagues in the management of patients with specialist palliative care needs and urgent generalised nursing needs.
• Actively manage unscheduled visits to patients within a 2‑hour rapid response timeframe.

• Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
• Shifts are 19:30‑08:00 on a rotating rota, covering 7 days a week.
• Interviews for this post are due to take place 30th January 2026.
