Machine Shop Team Leader / Engineering Team Leader

Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 2:15pm
Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm

£19.59 per hour + time and a half overtime

Our client is a Coventry-based global leader in the design and manufacture of precision steering systems. Their components are trusted worldwide across commercial, specialist and military vehicles, where reliability and performance are critical. • Leading daily shift briefs and ensuring production runs to schedule
• Managing a team of around 25 employees across milling, turning and assembly
• Overseeing holidays, attendance and conducting performance conversations
• Supporting disciplinary processes where required
• Monitoring output and interpreting production KPIs
• Using the ERP system (Sightline – training provided)
• Driving productivity, pace and accountability across the shop floor
• Escalating issues promptly to maintain performance and quality standards

• Experience managing a sizeable team within an engineering, production or manufacturing environment
• Confident leading performance discussions and holding teams accountable
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• Good IT skills and confidence using ERP systems and Excel
• A practical, hands-on leadership style suited to a direct shop floor environment
• Resilient, organised and people-focused approach
