Position: HTRC Core Technician (12 Month FTC)

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is a globally recognised research and development organisation, bringing together world‑class engineers, technicians and scientists to lead innovation across advanced manufacturing. With facilities in Coventry, Oxford and Liverpool, the MTC supports hundreds of industrial partners across aerospace, automotive, rail, food & drink, construction, energy and more.

At HTRC—a state‑of‑the‑art aerospace research facility—you'll work within a unique environment focused on production‑scale experimentation, precision manufacturing and breakthrough process innovation.

About the Role

We're hiring a Core Technician to join our expert Inspection team, specialising in ceramic core finishing and visual defect assessment for advanced components. Your work will directly support high‑precision manufacturing processes used in aerospace‑grade casting and engineering.

In this role, you will:
  • Carry out accurate finishing and inspection tasks to ensure high‑quality, on‑time component delivery
  • Follow work instructions and route cards meticulously, with zero deviation
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and problem‑solving activities
  • Support the wider inspection area as required
  • Occasionally work at partner sites when necessary
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Highly dexterous with strong attention to detail
  • Committed to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Hands‑on problem solver with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Capable of following technical instructions and working to strict quality, cost and timing targets
  • Able to handle confidential project information with professionalism
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in visual inspection
  • Knowledge of investment casting processes
  • Familiarity with problem‑solving or root‑cause analysis tools
  • Experience implementing improvement initiatives
