About the Role
Black Cat Recruitment are currently working in partnership with the CK Quality Group in Coventry on a large recruitment campaign for Europe’s leading automotive lighting manufacturer for the prestige & super-carmarket. Due to significant new investment in personnel, processes and plant throughout 2020, there are opportunities for up to five experienced, driven and committed Electrically-biased Maintenance Engineers to join them on Permanent contracts.
WorkingHours
37 hours per week: 0800 – 1700 (Mondays – Thursdays) and 0800 – 1300 (Friday).
Job FunctionTo provide hands‑on, Electrical assistance in the maintenance, installation, commissioning, fault finding and decommissioning of plant and equipment. Mechanical aspects of the job may also be tasked.
Key Responsibilities- Provide rapid technical assistance in the resolution of equipment and plant malfunctions, carry out fault‑finding repairs and refurbishments as necessary.
- Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules as required.
- Develop and refine local operating procedures to maximise efficiency and minimise waste (scrap, re‑work and unplanned inspection).
- Train operators in the safe operation of equipment and promote up‑skilling.
- Develop and maintain process and plant efficiency and utilisation measures to use as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Continuously strive to eliminate and reduce waste of any kind within the manufacturing process, scrap, re‑work and consumables.
- Develop and implement planned maintenance of jigs, fixtures, plant and other equipment to minimise efficiency losses to production whilst carefully controlling costs.
- Assist in the integration of new plant and equipment into the production environment.
- Set and strive to improve housekeeping standards through the use of the 5S approach.
- Apprentice‑trained with the City & Guilds 17th Edition Wiring Regulations is required.
- An HNC, HND or relevant Engineering Degree would be beneficial.
- Previous experience of working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience of working on injection moulding machines desirable.
- Ability to manage projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of PLC programming and fault finding.
- Experience of robotic programming is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable track record of problem solving.
- Able to use own initiative to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
- Able to work inclusively in a team environment.
