Maintenance Manager - pressure systems at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services. We are looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Manager with proven experience in steam boiler systems, pressure systems safety, and BOAS accreditation to join our team. This is a critical role ensuring compliance, reliability, and efficiency across complex boiler plant and gas infrastructure within a PFI healthcare environment. You will act as the appointed person for Pressure Systems, lead maintenance and compliance activities, and drive continuous improvement in operational performance.

• Ensure service delivery meets all statutory, mandatory, and routine compliance requirements, with clear evidence of adherence to BOAS standards and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR).
• Drive continuous improvement in boiler and gas system operations through efficiency, added value, and best-in-class delivery.
• Contribute positively to account performance in revenue, profit, and cash by optimizing boiler plant and gas system reliability.
• Lead, monitor, and develop your team effectively, ensuring competency in steam generation, combustion systems, and pressure safety.
• Build open, honest relationships with key stakeholders, including the Trust and SPV, while acting as a technical authority on gas-fired boiler systems.
• Maintain strong connections with Mitie stakeholders and delivery partners to share best practices in boiler and pressure system management.
• Ensure full contractual compliance with PFI terms and conditions while achieving commercial goals for Mitie and the client (SPV).

• Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks on boiler plant and gas systems to a high standard.
• Act as the appointed person for Pressure Systems, ensuring compliance with BOAS, PSSR, and relevant legislation.
• Maintain assets in line with contract requirements, HTMs, HBMs, O&M manuals, and manufacturer instructions, supported by accurate CAFM records.
• Interpret engineering and building drawings, delivering high-quality workmanship for complex boiler and gas systems and understanding their interdependencies.
• Document contract variation requests and coordinate with the Commercial Manager to implement changes in line with procedures.
• Provide technical leadership on combustion efficiency, burner tuning, and gas pressure control, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

• BOAS accreditation (Operator or Manager level).
• Proven experience working with gas pressure systems, including commissioning, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Strong understanding of combustion principles, steam generation, and pressure vessel safety.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as IGEM, PSSR, and Gas Safety Regulations.
• Ability to lead safety initiatives and train operational staff.
