Summary
The Infrastructure Manager – Network and Server is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's network and server infrastructure (outside China regions). The role manages day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the systems, and leads a team of network and server administrators. The manager also plays a key role in strategic planning, capacity management, and disaster recovery planning to align IT infrastructure with business goals.
Whatyou'll do
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure, ensuring systems are optimized for performance and scalability.
- Ensure stability, security, and availability of network and server systems by proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Develop and execute strategies for network and server infrastructure aligned with organisational goals.
- Plan and manage infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance IT efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and cross‑functional teams to integrate infrastructure with overall IT strategy.
- Ensure network and server infrastructures comply with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Implement security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring swift resolution and accurate reporting.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Monitor network and server performance using relevant tools and metrics.
- Optimize configurations to improve performance, reduce latency, and maximise uptime.
- Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure scalability.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems.
- Manage vendor and service provider relationships to ensure SLA adherence and quality delivery.
- Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services, including contract negotiation and budget management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on performance, incidents, and project status for management.
- Ensure all documentation is current, accurate, and accessible.
- Lead responses to network and server incidents to minimise business disruption.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, coordinating with other IT teams.
- Implement and manage incident response plans.
- Manage technical aspects of design and innovation projects to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Coordinate with project managers to align IT resources with timelines and objectives.
- Monitor project progress and address technical challenges.
- Ensure IT deliverables meet quality standards and align with business goals.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Essential:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CCNP, MCSE or equivalent are highly preferred. - Experience in network and server administration with a leadership or management role.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, services and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Expertise in server management, including Windows and Linux environments, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices.
