Windmill Surgery is a well‑respected and established surgery, providing primary care services to approximately 8,000 patients in Coventry, with excellent travel links.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a receptionist working 21.5 hours per week and these are non‑negotiable.
The working hours are:
Tuesday 08:00 am – 13:00 pm, Wednesday 13:00 pm – 18:30 pm, Thursday 13:00 pm – 18:30 pm and Friday 13:00 pm – 18:30 pm.
- Process personal, telephone and e‑requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Clinically code data on Emis Web
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitor letters and DVLA forms, to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Job responsibilitiesBe responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.
Act as the central point of contact for patients, distribute information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi‑disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Qualifications- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- Experience of working with the general public
- Experience of administrative duties
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting
