Patient Engagement & Clinical Coder

Windmill Surgery is a well-respected and established surgery, providing primary care services to approximately 8,000 patients in Coventry, with excellent travel links.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Patient Engagement & Clinical Coder at Windmill Surgery for 25 hours per week. Working hours/day are negotiable.

• Manage and update the practice website, social media channels, and other digital platforms.
• Create, schedule, and publish clear, accurate, and patient-friendly content.
• Support communication of practice news, service changes, health campaigns, and public health messages.
• Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to comments and messages in line with practice policy.
• Provide support with document coding administration.
• Provide support with summarising.
• To undertake any other reasonable tasks as allocated by the Practice Manager and partners.

Windmill Surgery is a two-partner practice supported by salaried GPs, a Phsycian Associate, and a dedicated nursing team that provides care for 8,000+ NHS patients.

We are an Emis Web Practice, using Docman and Accu Rx.

Located in a modern purpose built building with staff car park.

Job Summary

The Patient Engagement & Clinical Coder is responsible for managing and coordinating the practices internal and external communications across digital and traditional media platforms. The role supports patient engagement, promotes practice services, and ensures accurate, timely, and accessible information is shared in line with NHS standards, confidentiality, and information governance requirements.

• Experience in an administrative, communications, or customer-facing role.
• Experience using digital platforms such as websites, social media or email marketing tools.
• Experience handling enquiries and providing information clearly and professionally.
• Experience maintaining accurate records or logs.
• Experience working in a healthcare, NHS or patient-facing environment.
• Experience responding to feedback or complaints.
• Experience creating content (digital or print) for public communications.
• Experience supporting patient groups, community groups or engagement activities.
• Experience monitoring engagement metrics or reporting activity.

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English Language.
• Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role (e.g., NHS App support, information governance, GDPR).
• Qualification in communications, media, marketing, administration, or related field.
• Training in NHS systems (e.g., EMIS, NHS App support modules).
• Training in GDPR, confidentiality or information governance.
