The Breast Imaging department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire is looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will have previous mammography experience and be a qualified Mammography Associate Practitioner or Assistant Practitioner in mammography, and hold a full UK driving licence.
This post offers the opportunity to work in the field of mammography as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme, undertaking examinations at both the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and a variety of mobile screening locations across Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry. The role is 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday.

The advert will close on Thursday 29 Jan 2026 or as soon as sufficient applications have been received. - Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
- Carry out routine mammography examinations within the breast imaging team as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme and support symptomatic clinics.
- Adhere to departmental regulations with regard to IR(ME)
R 2017 procedures and local rules of practice. - Undertake regular quality control tests on the X-ray equipment and ensure that the results are accurately recorded.
- Take part in regular image analysis and mammography audit sessions.
- Participate in local and national client satisfaction surveys for screening clinics.
- Perform training to perform mammography on hospital and mobile screening sites to achieve required competence in mammography under the supervision of a senior radiographer.
- Act as courier for all mobile units, including delivering and returning supplies.
- Greet patients and maintain a respectful, dignified approach at all times.
- Escalate situations where patients are unhappy with the service and refer to senior staff when necessary.
- Respond to patient queries in a clear, concise manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of the screening environment and report faults or damage to senior staff.
- Assist with the cleaning of equipment and interior of mobile units, including floors, walls and sink.
- Qualified as a Mammography Associate Practitioner or Assistant Practitioner in mammography.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt mammography technique to varying body shapes and disabilities.
- Demonstrated compliance with departmental work instructions.
