About the role
This is an exciting development opportunity to join the Resuscitation Service. The post holder will support the Lead Resuscitation Practitioners in the organisation and delivery of resuscitation training and strategy.
Key responsibilities- Facilitate adult resuscitation training for all staffing groups (nursing, medical staff and allied health care professionals).
- Respond to medical assistance and cardiac arrest calls and support Paediatric Resuscitation Practitioners with paediatric training where required.
- Work autonomously and flexibly to ensure all resuscitation training meets service needs and compliance standards.
- Participate in audits, such as daily checking and stocking of cardiac arrest trolleys, and undertake relevant research.
- Organise, set up and maintain resuscitation equipment used for training, ensuring it meets departmental, trust and national standards, policies and procedures.
- Maintain an efficient and effective service, upholding NHS Trust policies and local statutory guidelines.
- Contribute to corporate objectives while acting in accordance with Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
- Maintain clinical competency and evidence‑based practice to improve patient care.
- Escalate issues to the Lead Resuscitation Practitioners when necessary, prioritise workload and provide relevant support during difficult situations.
- Perform adult cardiac arrest/medical emergency response, including cardiac chest compressions, when required.
- Provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP.
- Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and flexibly within a large NHS Trust environment.
- Maintain a professional presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to sustain clinical competency.
- Act with accountability and professionalism in line with relevant codes of conduct.
