What is a Rehabilitation Technician?
A “Rehabilitation Technician” is a specialist
* Therapy Assistant
* who works within a team of therapy professionals and is delegated rehabilitation tasks and activities to do either on their own or alongside a registered therapist with a patient. They will work flexibly alongside peers and several different therapists and can be delegated work from any registered therapist who works in the team. This might be Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians and Psychologists.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
About the ServiceThe Community Integrated Neuro and Stroke Service (CINSS) is a dedicated community rehabilitation service based in Coventry. They support people to be discharged home from hospital, when safe to do so, following a diagnosis of a stroke or other neurological condition and offer them rehabilitation team consists of Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation Technicians.
You will work closely with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team and Clinical Lead. The team has strong leadership with experienced qualified therapy staff that will support your development through value based appraisal, work based competencies, peer and individual supervision.
Work flexibly with a range of therapy disciplines, supporting patients independently or alongside registered therapists. Assist with delegation of rehabilitation tasks & activities. Adapt to changes in workload and patient needs, prioritising tasks effectively.
Qualifications and Skills- Demonstrated understanding of Trust values of seeking excellence, working together, respect for everyone and compassion in action.
- Excellent communication skills, able to support patients who may need help to understand or express themselves.
- Experience of moving and handling people safely, using techniques or equipment where required.
- Experience working with people with cognitive (memory and thinking) impairments or behaviours that challenge.
- Experience supporting people who are emotionally distressed in difficult circumstances.
- Strong team player with enthusiasm for supporting peers and colleagues.
- Commitment to personal development, attending training and assessment of work‑based competencies.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively, responding flexibly to patient needs.
- Passion for community rehabilitation, supporting people to live well with neurological illness or injury.
- Valid UK driving licence; car must be insured for business use.
