Lead Occupational Therapist

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust

The CINSS team is a community‑based interdisciplinary therapy team that supports early discharge of patients after hospital care with a neurological diagnosis. Based at Newfield House, we provide patient‑centred rehabilitation to adults aged 18 and over in the Coventry area. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team working in patients' homes, our outpatient clinic and gym.

This post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to consolidate current skills while working closely with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and Therapy Leadership Team to deliver high standards of care and service delivery. It will also allow you to develop clinical skills, manage patients' rehabilitation needs, foster inter‑disciplinary teamwork, and lead a team of therapy staff.

The role suits an experienced neuro occupational therapist looking to work within a dynamic, friendly team committed to excellent patient‑centred service and continuous professional development through joint working and a comprehensive in‑service training programme.

The successful candidate will have evidence of postgraduate neuro rehabilitation experience, sound clinical reasoning and specialist clinical practice. An inclusive team approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and effectively with a secondary‑care stroke team are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise closely with healthcare professionals from UHCW and Warwickshire Integrated and Community Care Services.
  • Follow defined stroke and neurological care pathways and other relevant rehabilitation pathways.
  • Assess for, plan, implement and evaluate outcome‑focused interventions and treatments.
  • Provide a comprehensive range of evidence‑based assessment and treatment to patients.
  • Support the Clinical Lead and Service Lead with professional leadership within the team.
  • Support the Service Lead with day‑to‑day operational leadership of the team in conjunction with lead therapists.
