UTC Assessment Practitioner

Overview

UTC Assessment Practitioner role at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust. An experienced qualified practitioner who can provide clinical leadership and management support to the UTC/MIU teams and ensure optimum quality of care for patients attending the Urgent Care Treatment Centres/Minor Injury Unit. Provides initial/secondary clinical assessments and treatments independently or with other clinicians in accordance with agreed pathways and clinical guidelines.

Develops and evaluates best practice within the UTCs/MIU. The role offers opportunities to develop clinical skills, ongoing professional development, and close collaboration with colleagues in the UTC and Emergency Medicine teams to maintain best practice and strong professional relationships.

The UTCs/MIU team is described as friendly and hardworking, comprising practitioners, health care staff, GPs and Advanced Practitioners, committed to delivering high-quality care and patient experience.

• Provide clinical leadership and management support to the UTC/MIU teams and ensure appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated in line with evidence-based best practice and clinical guidelines.
• Conduct clinical assessments of adults and children, supervising and collaborating with other UTC practitioners, Advanced Practitioners, GPs, and healthcare support workers.
• Maintain accurate records of all consultations and treatments in patient notes (written and computerised).
• Contribute to service development and act as a clinical leader within the MIU/UTC teams.
• Communicate clinical decisions, policies and care pathways effectively to patients, carers, and the multi-professional team.

• Experienced qualified practitioner with ability to provide clinical leadership and management support in UTC/MIU settings.
• Ability to perform initial/secondary clinical assessments and treatments independently or in collaboration with others, following agreed pathways and guidelines.
• Evidence-based practice orientation and commitment to ongoing professional development and service improvement.
• Willingness to undertake an immunisation and vaccination report process as part of UK occupational health requirements.
