The Finance Office – WMG is seeking to appoint a Senior Accounts Assistant to provide high-level accounting support.
In this role, you will take responsibility for project accounting, including monitoring and preparing claims and invoices. You will support the production of key management information, provide data to assist with financial planning, and coordinate systems to ensure finances are accurate, compliant, and fully auditable.

You will be educated to GCSE level and hold a full AAT Technician qualification or Part 1 CIMA (or equivalent), with a willingness to progress towards full membership of a chartered accountancy body.
You will have strong numerical skills, with the ability to perform calculations, analyse and present financial data effectively using spreadsheets.
Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to engage confidently and professionally with a wide range of colleagues across the University as well as external organisations.
You will also bring proven supervisory experience, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, delivering accurate results under pressure and to tight deadlines.

The role is campus based however staff can opt to work under the Finance Office’s current hybrid policy where a maximum of 40% of time (2 days per week for full time staff; normally Tuesdays and Fridays) can be worked remotely. Further details are available on request or at interview stage.
