Financial Accountant

About the Business

An opportunity to be a Financial Accountant for a fun and engaging tech company based in Coventry. You will be part of an exciting and collaborative finance team, with hybrid working. This role would suit a qualified accountant who is looking to progress their career within a fast paced industry.

Main Duties:

As a Financial Accountant, your main duties include:

* Produce quarterly tax submissions and ensure balances agree with UK VAT liabilities within required deadlines.

* Oversee the compilation and submission of monthly EU VAT filings

* Manage end-to-end VAT compliance obligations, including accurate and timely return filings.

* Carry out month-end close responsibilities, including the preparation and posting of journals such as:

* Intercompany recharges and billing, reviewing postings completed by regional teams for accuracy and consistency

* Intercompany financing arrangements, including interest calculations, foreign exchange reviews, and associated journals

* Support intercompany reconciliations and analytical reviews at month end

* Investigate and respond to balance and variance queries

* Prepare statutory financial statements for UK subsidiaries in accordance with UK GAAP

* Support the preparation of statutory accounts under accounting standards.

* Lead overhead budgeting and year-end accrual processes in partnership with operational stakeholders.

* Coordinate and provide support for the completion of UK and Singapore corporate tax filings.

* Compile consolidation schedules and assist with group-level financial reporting.

* Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax consultants, and other professional advisors.

* Provide broader finance team support, including technical accounting research and evaluation of appropriate treatments.

* Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as business needs arise.

* Proactively review and improve existing processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.

Location / Office / Culture

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified

* Strong technical accounting capability, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience across group consolidations, acquisition accounting, taxation, and statutory audit processes.

* An effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to build productive working relationships.

* Highly motivated and proactive, with a positive attitude and strong personal drive.
