OverviewWe are looking for a Reconciliations & Settlements Analyst to join our Payments Operations – Reconciliations and Settlements team at our Coventry office, West Midlands. This full‑time, permanent position reports directly to the Payment Operations Managers and will lead a team to ensure daily FX and cash settlements, reconciliations, and compliance with client‑money obligations (Safeguarding, CAR, CASS).
Responsibilities- Confirm, settle, and reconcile all FX transactions daily.
- Reconcile all bank accounts, transactions, and systems on a daily basis.
- Ensure compliance with client‑money regulations, including Safeguarding, CAR and CASS.
- Guarantee that cash settlements result in funds arriving in the correct bank accounts at the correct times, minimizing cost to the business and maximizing revenue.
The role is divided across three main work streams – FX settlements, cash settlements, and reconciliations – and involves collaboration with Sales, Dealing, Finance and Group, Risk, and Compliance teams. Exposure to all areas of payments within a global Fin Tech ecosystem will provide comprehensive learning opportunities.
What We’re Looking For / Skills That Will Help You in the Role- High interest in transitioning to FX, settlements, and reconciliation activities.
- Previous experience with day‑to‑day banking and reconciliation tasks such as client money reconciliations, cash management, and settlement of FX trades.
- Prior experience with SWIFT payments.
- Knowledge of the banking sector, particularly payments and FX products.
- Understanding of AML and compliance requirements, including safeguarding (CAR / CASS).
- Ability to establish credibility quickly and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written), composure under pressure, and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
- Solution‑focused approach with objective, evidence‑based decision‑making and influence.
- Consultative style, capable of simplifying complex information for varied audiences.
- Resilience to change and adaptability to new situations with confidence.
- Excellent analytical skills, independent thinking, and drawing sound conclusions.
