An established building services contractor is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Estimator to join their expanding commercial team. The business delivers high‑quality projects across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, healthcare, and public sector environments. They are known for their strong technical capability, collaborative culture, and long‑term client relationships.

The Mechanical & Electrical Estimator will play a key role in securing new business and supporting the pre‑construction function. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring pricing reflects current market conditions and aligns with client specifications.

• Produce detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Carry out take‑offs and measure quantities as required.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
• Evaluate technical information and propose value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare tender summaries, cost breakdowns, and bid submissions.
• Attend site visits, client meetings, or pre‑tender briefings when required.
• Work closely with the internal design, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Contribute to improving estimating processes and maintaining pricing databases.

• Proven experience as an M&E Estimator within building services or a similar engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, etc.).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
• Confident in using estimating software and MS Excel.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
