In this newly created role, as our Senior Project Lead Engineer Pipework Systems for Data Center, you will act as a project lead and matter expert to support the data center sales teams and customers by providing technical expertise in the design, specification, and analysis of pipework systems for data center projects. You will oversee the Proposal and Specifications Engineering within the team, allocate projects, and ensure timely execution.

You will take over projects and be responsible for delivering proposals, quotations, and engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. It involves utilizing the wider engineering group, including the stress analysis team, material specialists to support your material selection, and automation and system specialists.

Senior Project Lead Engineer Pipework Systems for Data Center (m/f/d)

• Instructing and providing professional guidance to Proposal and Specification Engineers and acting as Subject Matter expert
• Develop and review technical proposals, quotes, and engineering designs for data center projects for mechanical pipework systems
• Perform calculations for pipework design, hydraulic pressure losses, expansion and contraction, bracketing support, and valve sizing, as well as other engineering assessments to validate solutions
• Support sales teams by translating customer requirements into efficient and cost-effective piping solutions
• Collaborate with the global engineering team to optimize project delivery and supply required engineering support to succeed in the project (Proposal Engineering, Detail Engineering, Pipe Stress Analysis, e.g.)
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, BSI, ISO) and project specifications
• Support pre-sales and post-sales engineering activities as required

Your profile:

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, or related field)
  At least 6 years of concrete experience as a Project Engineer or Project Leader in an industrial environment
• Concrete experience in data center design, pipework design, stress analysis, or related engineering disciplines
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
• Good communication skills to present, explain, and defend GF recommendations and designs with various stakeholders (internal/external) including sales teams, end users/clients, engineering managers, or specialized engineers
